Houshan Reservoir is located in the territory of Fan hometown, Suizhong County, and the dam site is located in the middle of the Gouhe River, north of Zhaojiadian, Xuejia Village, Fan Hometown. It is composed of retaining dam section, overflow dam section, diversion dam section, retaining auxiliary dam, diversion tunnel and environment and irrigation water supply pipe. The main dam is 349 meters long, the secondary dam is 80.0 meters long, 51.6 meters higher than the dam, and the diversion tunnel is 6.183 kilometers long. National Type II reservoir is one of 172 major water saving and water supply projects during the 13th Five-Year Plan period.
